Our Mission & Vision

St Simon's Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church is dedicated to advancing the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox faith through worship, education, and pastoral care, serving our community in Gloucester and beyond.

Our Charitable Objects

As a registered charity, our mission is rooted in service to God and our community through the following objectives:

1. Advancing the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Faith

We are committed to preserving and promoting the ancient apostolic traditions of the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, maintaining our rich spiritual heritage for future generations.

2. Providing Facilities for Worship

We offer a sacred space where the faithful can gather to celebrate the Holy Qurbana, participate in prayer services, and experience the beauty of Orthodox liturgy in the Syriac tradition.

3. Religious Education

Through Sunday School programs, adult faith formation, and catechetical instruction, we nurture spiritual growth and theological understanding in all ages, from children to adults seeking to deepen their faith.

4. Outreach & Community Service

We extend Christ's love beyond our parish walls through charitable work, supporting local initiatives, and being a presence of compassion and hope in Gloucester and the surrounding communities.

5. Pastoral Care & Spiritual Guidance

Our clergy and parish community provide confidential counseling, spiritual direction, sacramental ministry, and support to all who seek guidance, comfort, or healing in times of need.
